Dorothy Schwendel Obituary

Passed away on August 9, 2024. Wife of Fred Schwendel, mother of Christine Schwendel, Daughter of George and Helen Starr. Sister of George Starr Jr., Beloved sister-in-law of Web and Ethel Bloedorn, Demo and Lois Staver.

She is survived by nieces & nephews.

Dear friend of the Bednarczyks, Wahlgrens, the Krieges, the Gardners, Bonnie Beeck, Sue Duvernell, Doreen Kieffer, The Dobs, Dr & Mrs. Moran, Laurie & Ruth Haggith, our friends, Virginia Starm, Sue Suckow, Nancy Brust, Terry Edwin, and Barb Beck, Dave and Judy Worzalla.

Dorothy was a bookkeeper for Allen Bradley and Starr Wheel Alignment. She worked as a receptionist for Martz and Apple Chevrolet.

She enjoyed knitting, calligraphy, bowling, and making her own Christmas cards. She liked pen and ink drawing and taking bus trips with Judy and friends. She enjoyed line dancing. Later she studied oriental brush painting.

Recently, she has been taking watercolor classes. Dorothy loved flowers and doing puzzles on her iPad.

In her younger days she liked to trap shoot with her husband, as well as playing tennis and ping-pong. She liked to fish for rainbow trout. She loved playing pinball and pool. But what she loved was spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed entertaining; her and her husband did a fair amount of entertaining. Her favorite charities are smile train, seeing eye dogs for the blind, and boy's town.

She will be remember as a thoughtful, kind, loving person with a great sense of fun and humor. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls (N84W17937 Menomonee Avenue, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051) from 3:30pm until time of service at 5:30pm.
