Frederick C. Jannke Obituary

Fred Jannke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was called to his heavenly home on September 9th, 2025.

He proudly served 6 years in the Naval Reserve while working as a Lithographer until his retirement. He loved spending time in Eagle River, attending events at Road America in Elkhart Lake and other racetracks, including the Indy 500 which he attended many times.

A true car enthusiast, Fred enjoyed long drives, whether in his car, motorcycle or snowmobile. He had the ability to fix anything or build things from scratch, whether it be the 3rd car garage he added to his home, the car he built from parts and the many model vehicles he made.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carol; his children Jim Jannke (Teri), Sheryl Anastas and Jane Haven (Jon); his cherished grandchildren Kristen, Nicole, Molly, Alex, Emma, Adam and Alyse: five great-grandchildren and many beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Lorraine; his sister Karen; his best friend and brother-in-law Bill.

Fred's life was marked by kindness and a dedication to his unwavering faith, love for his family and the simple joys of life. He will be remembered for many reasons including his firm handshake, his relentless teasing, always delivered with a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of good humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life service for Fred will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at W156N8131 Pilgrim Rd Menomonee Falls, WI on Saturday, September 20th. There will be a calling at 10:00 and the service begins at 11:00 followed by a luncheon. Everyone is welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church where Fred was a devoted member.
