James L Nettesheim Obituary
James Lester Nettesheim found peace on October 26, 2022. Jim was born September 11, 1942. He spent his life in the service of others.
Jim was best friend and loving husband to Margaret "Peg" (nee Madden) for 57 years. He is also survived by: his children, Les, Ann (the late Robert Hilgendorf), Paul (Sandy), grandchildren Connor and Katelyn, and brother-in-law Michael (Annette) Madden. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lester and Marie, his sister Mary Jo, his son-in-law Robert Hilgendorf, his sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Jo and Ken Janson and Bill and Alice Madden, and many other relatives and dear friends.
Jim was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School class of 1960. Following high school, he earned his teaching degree in 1964 from UW-Whitewater and spent the next 34 years teaching sixth grade at Calhoun Elementary School in New Berlin, WI.
During his entire life, he served others as the volunteer director of St. James Cemeteries and was an active member of the National Catholic Cemetery Association for 50 years. Jim was a member of the Sussex Lions Club and served many roles including club president and zone chairman. He was awarded the Birch-Sturm and Melvin Jones fellowship awards for his service and dedication to others.
Jim was a loyal Brewers, Badgers, Packers, and Nascar fan. Jim also enjoyed woodworking, and especially intarsia. Jim lived and enjoyed his family home in Menomonee Falls that his parents build in 1938.
Jim received incredible medical care throughout his life. A special thanks to Dr. Tom Cantieri and the other Pro-Health Care Staff, caregivers of Frontida of Germantown, and Preceptor Hospice staff.
Visitation and Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church W220 N6588 Town Line Rd. Menomonee Falls, WI on Saturday, November 5, 2022. The visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Private Burial St. James Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James-Rose Hill Cemetery, Sussex Lions Club, or a charity of your choice.
