James S. Mantych Obituary
James S. Mantych, age 66 was born on December 1, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI to Florence and Stephen Mantych. Jim died on December 19, 2021, at his home in Menomonee Falls, WI. Jim was raised in Wauwatosa and during his senior year of high school he joined the Navy where he served for four years in the Bahamas. After his discharge he worked for the City of Wauwatosa and met his wife, Monica. Jim then became the project superintendent for the Marriott Corporation for the remainder of his career. During their 40-year marriage Jim and Monica had 2 children, Brandon (Ami) and Brittany. In his free time, he enjoyed camping with his family in their RV, and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed helping everyone with not only his vast knowledge of construction but his handyman skills as well. Unfortunately, about 12 years ago Jim sustained an injury that changed his life. Despite his injury, the last 3 years were spent blessed with his granddaughter, Averi, whom he adored like no other. His eyes always lit up every time she was around, or he talked to anyone about her.
Jim is survived by his wife- Monica, his son- Brandon (Ami), and his daughter Brittany (Diesel-his grand-dog), grandchildren- Gage, Natali, and Averi. He leaves behind his sisters Marilyn and Susan along with his brother Thomas and his mother-in-law, Vivian Schmidt. His memory will also be carried on by his nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
At this time a private ceremony with family only will be held in the next few weeks with a Military celebration of life at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a date to be later determined, probably early summer. For additional details please reach out to the family.
Rest in peace, my dear James, you are no longer in pain.
