Jane E. Hatch Obituary
Jane E. Hatch (Eckel), age 95, of Menomonee Falls, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025.
Jane was born on February 1, 1930 to Vern Eckel and Marie (nee Rebholz) in Elm Grove, WI. Early in her life, her father moved the family to a farm in Menomonee Falls where later Jane, with her husband Carl, built their home and raised their daughters, and where Jane continued to reside until 2021.
She was the beloved wife of Carl, cherished mother of Susan (Stephan) Schneidler of Birchwood, TN and Amy (Louis) Larscheidt of Menomonee Falls; proud grandmother of Ryan Larscheidt of Madison, WI and Simon Larscheidt (Stacey) of Chandler, AZ; and great grandmother of Isla Larscheidt; and is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carl, sister Sally, and brother-in-law, Ron Greve.
Jane will be remembered as a kind and caring person, always ready to help her family or those included in the wide circle of friends she made during her long and happy life.
Jane had a lifelong love of animals, large and small, domestic and wild. This interest led her to become involved with the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County (HAWS) almost from its beginning, both as a board member and as a volunteer for over 40 years. She also spent time volunteering at the Wildlife in Need Center, Oconomowoc.
She resided at Brookdale Assisted Living in Sussex for the last 4 years. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Brookdale for the wonderful care they provided Jane.
At Jane's request, there will be no formal service. Memorials may be sent to HAWS, 701 Northview Road, P.O. Box 834, Waukesha, WI 53187-0834.
