He was predeceased by: his sons, William and John; his granddaughter Maile; his wife Joyce; his brothers, Marvin and Richard; and his son-in-law Ronn.

He is survived by: his children, Sandra, Kelly (Gerry) and Kim (Mark); his grandchildren, Scott, Amber, Malia, Austin and Skylar; his great grandchildren, Amalia, Zachary and Kaimana; his siblings, Gary, Kathy and Mike; and his nephews, Tommy and Dean. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Nā Hale Cultural Arts Center appreciated to support his granddaughter's vision of Hawaiian culture and tradition.
