Judy K. (Schara) Heisl Obituary
Judy K. Heisl (née Schara), age 81, passed away October 6, 2025 surrounded by family and love. She was born on July 11, 1944, and shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Thomas J. Heisl Sr. The two recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 2, a milestone that reflected their enduring love and partnership.
Judy was the beloved mother of Thomas J. Heisl Jr. (Marcy) and Kevin Heisl (Anita). She was the proud grandmother of Nathan and Nicholas, and step-grandmother of Ryan Stray (Kelsey), Kyle Stray, and Aubrey Waechter (Mark), and the cherished step great-grandmother of Maddie and Parker Stray.
She was further loved by her sister-in-law, Kathy Schraenkler (and nephew, Steve), as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will always remember her with love.
Judy was preceded in death by her siblings — Sister Geovonne Seeman, Brother Larry Schara (Dee), and Sister Jackey Taddey — with whom she shared many treasured memories, laughter, and adventures.
A 1962 graduate of Custer High School in Milwaukee, Judy dedicated over 30 years of hard work and friendship at Briggs and Stratton. Outside of work, she lived life to the fullest. Judy was an avid bowler and golfer, and she enjoyed casino trips with her sisters and niece, Karen Smit. She found joy in her card club gatherings, where her warmth, humor, and competitive spirit always shone through. Above all, Judy loved spending time with her grandsons, who brought her endless happiness and pride.
Judy's kindness, laughter, and love of family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to loyalty, joy, and the simple pleasures of togetherness.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or the American Cancer Society, causes that reflect Judy's caring and generous heart.
Visitation will be held at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 2pm until time of Funeral Service at 4pm.
There is currently road construction on Menomonee Ave. in front of the Funeral Home. You can enter off Menomonee Ave. coming westbound but not eastbound. There are two other entrances to the Funeral Home. You can enter off of Town Hall Rd. on the west side of the building or off of Shady Lane on the east side of the building.***.
