Kathleen B. Thompson Obituary
Thompson (nee McCormack), Kathleen B. December 2nd, 1938 - December 23rd, 2021. Kathleen passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 23rd after having been diagnosed with lung cancer on December 4th.
She is survived by her daughter Shannon (Peter) Meissner. She is further survived by six granddaughters as well as six great grandchildren and one who was waiting for her in heaven. She is also survived by many friends and family. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Frank as well as her sons Dan and Chris Thompson. Kathleen was born December 2nd, 1938, to Daniel McCormack and Mary Zinkowich and resided most of her life in Milwaukee before moving to Sussex in 2009 to be closer to her daughter Shannon. Kathleen worked at Cardinal Stritch College for many years and later, worked in Home health and Hospice care for Wheaton Franciscan. She loved to help people and her home was always open to strangers and those whoneeded a hand up. Kathy was a great listener and a woman who never complained, regardless of her circumstances. She was very generous with her resources and was a loving mom, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Her decision to trust Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young woman made facing death much easier, knowing that as a Christian, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm with the funeral beginning at 3:00 pm at Lakewood Baptist Church (W274N1490 Riverland Dr. Pewaukee) on Sunday January 2nd.
