Michael E. Tarman Obituary

Michael E. Tarman passed away on Tuesday, March 17, at the age of 77. Raised among four sisters, he was a beloved brother, uncle, Vietnam veteran, and registered nurse whose life was marked by service, intelligence, humor, and compassion.

Michael had a sharp mind, a wicked wit, and a deep love of history, music, movies, nature, and travel. He especially loved his dogs, the woods of Wisconsin, and exploring the mountains and deserts of the West. To his many nieces and nephews, he was simply "Mikey," a much-loved and unforgettable presence in their lives.

After more than a decade of sobriety, Michael had found peace in his later years. He will be deeply missed by his four sisters, many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in July, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wisconsin Humane Society at https://secure.wihumane.org..

“DearRose I am greatly sadden to learn of Mike's passing. He was among my closest friends at Dominican and years after (Latin classes were especially memorable for the many tricks we ran on Sister Veronica. Actually, I was informed of his death through the DHS class of 1966 email chain). Mike was a true gentleman with fantastic wit and intelligence. After my move to Chicago we went our separate ways, but in December, 2003 he sent a packet of photographs that I've saved these years. Drea”
