Norman Forsythe Obituary
Forsythe, Norman "Norm". Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 13, 2026, at the age of 78.
Norman was the beloved husband of Virginia "Ginger" (nee Gleason) for 56 years; loving father of Brian (Jennifer Madsen-Cook) and Kevin (Jacquelynn), and daughter from another mother and father, Trina (Chris) Ellenbecker; and proud grandpa of Jacob (Lyndsay) and Luke (Alison).
Fun-loving and entertaining, Norm was the kind of man people were glad to see walk through the door. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was happiest of all on the water. A devoted member of the Port Washington Yacht Club, he served as Commodore and played an integral role in the club's expansion. For more than three decades he worked as an engineer at GE Healthcare, developing heart monitors and traveling the world in the process — always coming home with a story worth telling. In retirement, he truly loved serving the youth of his community, driving for Riteway bus company.
He is further survived by John (Linda) Gleason, Tom (Sara) Gleason, Teri Gleason, and Deni Zunker; his bonus grandkids Emily (Riley), Anthony, and Drew; his furry friend Dolly; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Marie; his sister, Diane Rombough; and his in-laws, Wes and Arlene Gleason.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice, Silver Springs of Mequon, and to all who cared for Norm, especially Becky, Candice, and Raven.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. in Menomonee Falls, from 10am until time of Memorial Service at 12pm.
