Patricia A. Kowall Obituary
Pat Kowall, 97 years old of Menomonee Falls, WI (formerly of Sturgeon Bay, WI) found peace on Monday, May 4, 2026. She was born in Chicago to Aloysius and Gertrude (Lally) Kummer. Pat married Jim Kowall on Sept. 10, 1949 in Chicago and they were blessed with 5 children: David (Claire), Beth, Christopher (Jean), Jennifer (Cecil), and Peter. She had 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nephew Tom (Barbara).
Pat spent many years volunteering at her church and her children's schools. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing blouses, dresses, coats and all kinds of gowns. Pat also altered pants, shirts, or whatever friends would bring her. She also loved knitting as she donated many baby blankets to the Christ Child Society. Pat later learned to quilt and made many beautiful wall hangings and bedspreads. She loved flowers and gardening, always having a beautiful garden in each of the homes they lived in.
When her husband Jim retired in 1991, they moved to Door County. Pat was a proud volunteer at the Door County Maritime Museum, dedicated volunteer with the Door County Medical Center Auxiliary, and a compassionate member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Corpus Christi Parish, making beautiful shawls for those in need of physical and spiritual comfort. She was also a fond member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) – DQ Chapter in Sturgeon Bay. She loved being a part of that sisterhood.
She was a woman of faith and prayed the rosary every day. She said her greatest gift was being a loving wife, mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Arboretum, Vitas Healthcare and Hospice, and Laura and Mandi, for the kind and compassionate care they gave Pat.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Jim, and granddaughter Jillian.
