Peter D. DeGaro Obituary

Peter Donald DeGaro, beloved husband and father, passed away on August 18, 2025. He was 72 years old.

In addition to Kathleen (nee McClellan), his loving wife of over 50 years, Peter is survived by his children John, Joe, and Marie. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Laila, Alec, Audrie, JR, Beverly, and Delilah.

Peter was born to parents Donald and Joyce (nee Valenta) in Milwaukee Wi. on January 21, 1953. He graduated from Washington High School, also in Milwaukee.

A hard worker and described as a "Jack of all trades", Peter started working with his dad as a mechanic at age 14. He went on to be a bus driver, a grocery stocker at Kohl's, and after food serving and housekeeping, eventually became a maintenance man at the Marc Plaza Hotel for 20 years. Peter ended his career as a folder operator at HM Graphics before he got sick in 1997.

Peter's favorite hobby was racing HO cars at Lucky Bob's slot car racing in Milwaukee. Besides his indulgence for chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and Pepsi, Peter loved spaghetti with meatballs and quarter pounder meals. With his free time, he enjoyed waxing his cars and watching TV shows such as MASH, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Mike and Molly. In the quiet moments, he relished the time he spent sitting on his porch sipping coffee with cream and sugar.

In addition to a great sense of humor, Peter was kind, gentle, loved animals, and always had a smile on his face.
