Robert Citowitz Obituary

From Brooklyn, New York, passed away on October 19, 2026 at the age of 82 years old. Bob finally joined Jude, his beautiful wife who he missed every day. Best friend, Dad and hero to Gail (Don) Placzek, Andrea (Tim) Harrington and Jen Citowitz. Irreplaceable Grandpa of Matthew, Olivia, Sydney, Zoë and Natalia. Beloved uncle, nephew, brother and friend.

Bob was the OG Girl Dad, a member of the Brooklyn-based Halsey Bops and he was the first Big Brother in Milwaukee. He served as the longest running Union President of Glaziers Local 1204 and played handball at the Eagles Club, and Bob and Judy were Harley owners who enjoyed sailing and Sturgis. Bob was an artist who could fix anything and he had the best sense of humor, and he enjoyed wagyu beef, a good martini and Jude's meatloaf and rice pudding. He was a US Navy veteran Seabee and had to hitchhike from Brooklyn to the Navy base in San Diego with only his sea bag and uniform when he was 18, and although Bob was raised in a tenement building, he was accepted into and attended the prestigious Brooklyn Tech high school. He has four people named after him, and numerous others have his handwriting tattooed on them (even though he was mad about it!). Our Dad stepped up after our Mom died and the four of us made it through together, and he was our best friend, shopping and fest companion and Wordle foe. He loved his family FIERCELY and took incredible care of us.

Visitation on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home from 1 to 4PM with a Time of Reflection and Military Honors at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers and to honor Bob, memorials to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee and as Bob would say, "Vote Blue".
