Steven L. Binzak Obituary

Steve Binzak passed away on June 29, 2024 after a brief and hard-fought battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his loving wife Becky, son Paul (Ann), and daughters Michelle and Kimberly, as well as his grandchildren Leonard and Julia. He is also survived by his siblings Nancy, Rick (Deb), Betsy, Doug, and Michael (Jane), along with their children and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his incredible parents Paul and Audrey (Domach) and in-laws Artie and Doris Bach. He was also preceded by sisters-in-law Kris, Carol, and Michelle as well as brother-in-law Brian.

Steve grew up in Menomonee Falls and graduated from MF East in 1973. He then went into a long career working in the zinc diecasting industry. His career here allowed him to pursue his true passions working as a volunteer firefighter and on the safety team at Road America raceway. He joined the Germantown Volunteer Fire Department in 1986, rose to the rank of lieutenant, and served proudly for several years. Near the end of his time there he changed his focus to working at Road America on the safety team where he was a crew chief and was promoted to captain. He was there for 34 years and would have continued until they made him leave. Turn 1 in Safety 30 will always be his home away from home.

Above all else, Steve's heart belonged with family. He was a proud husband, dad, and grandpa and loved his family dearly. They welcome you to join them in saying goodbye during a visitation at Schmidt and Bartelt in Menomonee Falls on Monday, July 15 from 4-6 pm, with a short memorial to follow.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at St. Luke's, especially those on 12T Oncology and the MRICU for their wonderful care and tireless efforts.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

We love you Steve, you will be missed.
