Susan A. (Zemke) Zastrow Obituary
Sue was born on December 12, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI to Herman and Lillian (nee Bartelt) Zemke. She passed to her home in heaven on March 14, 2024, at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife for 68 years of Richard "Dick" Zastrow. Dear mom of Kenneth (Cindy) Zastrow, Robert (Karen) Zastrow, and Karen (James) Young. Loved grandma of Ben (Samantha), Ken Jr. (Heather), Anna, Jenny (Kevin), Amy (Luke), Kurt (Alisa), Tyler (Jenny), and Teresa (Anthony) and great grandma of fourteen. Special sister of Nancy "NeNe" Rabbitt. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Sue married her husband Richard "Dick" Zastrow on March 3, 1956, and they were blessed to just celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary. Sue and Dick resided a number of years in Atlanta, GA and enjoyed retirement in Florida where they met many new friends before returning to Wisconsin to be closer to family. In addition to her roles as wife and mother, Sue served in a number of positions within her church homes over the years. At the time of her passing, Sue was a member at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. In addition to her love of family, Sue will be fondly remembered for her love of all things John Wayne. The family would like to thank the staff and team members from Layton Terrace Senior Living Community and Allay Home and Hospice, Inc. for their loving care and support. Visitation with the family will take place on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, W156N5436 Bette Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051, from 4 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 6 PM. Interment will take place at a later time in the Wauwatosa Cemetery. For those who would wish to honor Sue, memorials will be directed to Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church.
