Terence William Ochs Obituary

Terence "Terry" William Ochs passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 90. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Terry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Fredrian "Freddie" Ochs. They were high school sweethearts who met at Washington High School and had been together for 72 years. He is also survived by his children, Don Ochs and Dawn Seimits, and his granddaughter, Annie Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Frank Ochs, and by his brother, Donald Lee Ochs, who passed away at age 17.

Terry spent the majority of his career in industrial distribution. In 1975, he purchased Applicant Equipment in Mequon, which he grew into a highly successful business over his 40 years as Owner and President. Terry genuinely loved his work and remained dedicated to his business until the day he retired at age 80. He was a respected and beloved leader, known for his generosity, integrity, and the care he showed to his employees.

Outside of work, Terry loved tennis, reading, and spending time with his family. A member of Ozaukee Country Club for over 35 years, he valued camaraderie and community. Terry brought warmth and charisma to every room he entered. He had an extraordinary gift for conversation and could strike up a connection with anyone. Known for his compassion, sense of humor, and natural ease with people, he was a true gentleman as well as a sharp dresser, always presenting himself with grace and polish.

Terry loved his family deeply and was a dedicated husband and father. He balanced a strong work ethic with a deep commitment to those he loved.

The family extends sincere thanks to the caregivers at Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice at Columbia St. Mary's, and to the many doctors, nurses, and providers who cared for him in his final days.

A celebration of Terry's life will take place in the fall, with all who knew and loved him welcome to attend. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

Terry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
