David Bruce Halling Obituary
David Bruce Halling, 88 years of age, of Mequon, WI, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023. Born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, he was the son of Gerald Ruel Halling and Lillian Marie Halling.
David was the loving husband of Suzanne Bowes Halling, and the father of Krista Kloppenburg Madey (husband Ron), Heidi Halling Adams husband David), and Kimberly Halling Koltonowski (husband John). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Abby and Emma Kloppenburg, Zack and Sam Adams, and Elise, Charlie and Jack Koltonowski.
He was a graduate of UW Madison, where he also earned his law degree. David had an illustrious law career as a litigator at Halling & Cayo, which he co-founded 50 years ago and still thrives today.
David was a true Renaissance man. Despite a bad leg from a bout of polio as a child, Dave loved playing squash, racquetball and tennis in his younger years. He loved the ballet, opera, the theater. He loved flowers, music and animals, and could talk for hours about his sailing and scuba adventures. Above all else, he loved his family, and was always good for a laugh or a joke. A room was happier place with him in it.
A memorial service will be held for David at Fox Point Lutheran Church, 7510 N. Santa Monica Blvd, Fox Point on January 6th. Visitation will be at 2pm, followed by a service at 3 pm.
