He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judy Thelen; his children, Margaret (Craig Andersen), Kate Greer (Mark), Peter Thelen and Monica Norfolk (John); his grandchildren, Sarah Walker (Ben), Christopher Greer (Anna), Natalie, Nicole and Jack Norfolk; and his siblings, Bernadyne Langer (Glenn) and David Thelen (late Roberta). He was also cherished by other relatives and good friends.
