Michael Charles Runde Obituary
Michael Charles Runde, of Mequon, WI passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, due to complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Anne Marie (nee McDermott), his parents Elvira (nee Lolwing) and Oscar Runde, and his brother Richard J. Runde (Phyllis). Mike is survived by his son Scott (Valerie) Runde and brother Patrick (Alvina) Runde.
Mike was born on August 5, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA in 1966 and earned his Juris Doctor in Law from the University of Notre Dame in 1969. He married the former Anne Marie McDermott on August 8, 1970, at Gesu Church in Milwaukee. Prior to retirement, Mike had a long and distinguished career practicing immigration law.
Mike loved being outdoors and had a true passion for nature, spending many weekends planting and transplanting wildflowers and working in his yard. He had worked to help create the Mequon Tree Preservation Ordinance. He also loved history and was passionate about volunteering at the Jonathan Clark House.
Visitation with the family will take place from 10 AM until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point, WI 53217. Inurnment will take place next to Anne Marie at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Mequon.
