He was predeceased by : his parents, Edgar Schield and Leona Schield (Schult); his grandson Mitchell Fruend; and his cousin James Schult. He is survived by : his children, Sarah Thomas (Matt) of Chanhassen, Kristen Schefdore (John) of Merrill, John Thiel of Irma and Michael Thiel of Wausau; his grandchildren, Ben, Madison, Nate, Owen, Katie, Brian, Terra, Jason, Jesse, Caryn and ShyAnne; his great grandchildren, Alphonse, Miles, Conner, Hanna, Lexi, Evalynn, Rosie, Anthony, Harrison and Charlotte; his former life partner Judine 'Judy Kroll; his wife Judy Schield of Merrill; his brother Dennis; his sister-in-law VerJean Schield; his nephew Brent of Tomahawk; and his cousin Jeff Schult. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
