With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Sauer Jr. (Merrill, Wisconsin), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 19, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Elizabeth Sauer, (Herdt) and David Sauer, Sr.; his in-laws, Leona and Paul Oestreich Sr.; his siblings, LaVern Sauer and Meta Mootz; his siblings-in-law, Glenn Mootz, Jack Rieckenberg, Ned Fox, David Oestreich, Daniel Oestreich, Arlene Rieckenberg, Georgene Oestreich and Elaine Oestreich; and his sons-in-law, Pat Myers and Mike Brock.

He is survived by : his wife JoAnn Emma Oestreich; his daughters, Gloria Myers, Julia Wicke (Jon) and Darcia Hopp (Bert); his grandchildren, Matthew Brock (Stephanie), Krystal Brock, Jeremy Wicke (Molli), Justin Wicke (Symone Pero), Kristina Brown (Michael) and Eric Hopp (Jaclyn Kunze); and his great grandchildren, Marcus Brock, Elaina Brock, Mia Wicke, McKenzie Wicke, Jacob Wicke, Paisley Hopp and Jayden Wicke.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Stephens United Church of Christ (903 E 2nd St, Merrill, WI 54452). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
