It is with sadness that the passing of James Robert Horath (Merrill, Wisconsin) is shared. James Robert, born on August 9, 1945, passed away on October 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Horath and Mary Horath (Martin); his brothers, William Horath, George Horath and Robert Horath; his brother-in-law Robert D. Boyle; and his nephew Robert J. Boyle.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Joan Boyle; his nieces and nephews, Megan, Katie, Jim, Tom and Bill; and his family Hoffmans.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral Home (301 Eagle Dr, Merrill, WI 54452). A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (1708 E 10th St, Merrill, WI 54452).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church for the new Reliquary or to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.
