John Swan Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Swan and Mary Swan (Dirkx); his wife Bettie Swan (Houck); his siblings, Peter Swan, Frances Mabee (Jim) and Agnes'Pat' Bernhardt (Sam); and his brother-in-law Larry Vandervest.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Swan (Lynda) of Merrill, Rick Swan (Wendy) of Olin, Don Swan (Dawn) of Merrill, Marty Swan (Sandy) of Merrill, Randy Swan of Merrill and Debbie Weix (Mark) of Merrill; his grandchildren, Chris Swan (Erin), Adam Swan (Emily), Jill Carlson (Garrett), Ben Swan, Jake Swan, Josh Swan (Britt), Stephanie Koenig (Nick), Shayla Swan, Tyler Swan (Hilary), Kyle Swan (Ally), Brett Swan, Beth Steffek (Jeff), Erin Conn (Quinn), Elyse Weix, Molly Weix, Tim Swan (Cortney), Nick Swan (Alesha) and Katrina Muenchow (Kerry); his siblings, Eugene Swan (Ginny) of Tomahawk, Bernadine Vadervest of Rhinelander and Mary Zahringer (Joe) of Tomahawk; and his sister-in-law Corrine Swan. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calendar Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence (1500 O Day St, Merrill, WI 54452). A Mass was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Calendar St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (1708 E 10th St, Merrill, WI 54452).
