He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Gast and Caroline Gast (Wickman); his brother Herman Gast Jr.; and his sister-in-law Audrey Gast. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Delores Hoff; his wife Delores Gast of Weston; his children, Linda Meschefske (Daniel) of Wausau, Donna Mae Normand (Norbert) of Wausau, Lyle Gast, Jr. (Cheryl) of Wausau and Larry Gast (Mary) of Wausau; his grandchildren, Bonnie Dean of Wausau and Allen Gast (Wendy) of Neillsville; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Anna Dean, Bryce and Caleb Gast; and his sister Shirley Johnson (Norm Bailey) of Pawcatuck, Connecticut. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
