He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Hassel and Elsie Hassel (Kleinschmidt); his wife Janice Hassel; his grandson Cody Green; his siblings, Wilma Mulkins (Jack), Elthera Groth (Harold), Viola Tesch (Hilbert), LaMar Hassel, Peter E. Hassel, Whyman L. Hassel (Betty), Lavern Hassel, Jack Hassel and Newood Hassel; and his brother-in-law Rolland Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Hassel (Bridgette) of Merrill, Kelly Hassel of Merrill and Robyn Oleson of Arizona; his grandchildren, Jacob Hassel, Alyssa Hassel, Danny Green, Samantha Bacher, Sierra Bacher, McKenzie Heimerl, Noah Oleson and Kaidyn Hassel-Connor; his great grandchildren, Liam Heimerl, Creed Heimerl Cole, Lincoln Hanson and Levi Hanson; his siblings, Marjorie Williams of Tomahawk and David Hassel (Patricia) of Milwaukee; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Hassel of Medford and Pat Hassel of Milwaukee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Waid Funeral Home (301 Eagle Dr, Merrill, WI 54452). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
