With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Russell D. Iwen of Merrill, Wisconsin, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Russell left this world on June 12, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Iwen and Evelyn Iwen (Payne); his brother Reuben'Shorty' Iwen (Bonnie); and his in-laws, Francis Goodell, Art Drew, Lonnie Tanck, Margaret and Anton'Babe'Bennish.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Iwen of Merrill; his daughters, Angelina Anderson (Murray Frenette) of Dryden and Melissa Dettmering (Shawn McMahon) of Merrill; his grandsons, Bruce Anderson of Portland, Gunnar Anderson of Newport, Russell Dettmering of Merrill, Arin Dettmering (Erica Arneson) of Merrill and Andrew Dettmering of Merrill; his brother Roger Iwen (Jody) of Parrish; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Goodell of Rhinelander, Nancy Drew of Merrill, Darlene'Dolly'Tanck of Merrill and Karen Grund (Brian) of Merrill. He is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 601 Johnson St, Merrill, WI 54452. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
