He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Biernasz and Mary Biernasz (Paligaca); his wife Florence Novak; his grandson Joseph; and his siblings, Walter, Andrew "Hank" and Lottie.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph G. Biernasz (Sally) of Port Huron, MI, Thomas Biernasz (Donna) of Peshtigo, James Biernasz (Kay) of Crivitz and JoAnn Swick (Pat) of Crivitz; and his close friend Trease Greene of Norway, MI.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.
