James Richard Sime Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Richard Sime of Middleton, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Sime and Margaret Sime (Hackett); his former wife Diane Donahue; and his brothers, John, Melvin and Robert Sime.
He is survived by: his wife Rose; his son James L. Sime (Kirsten Baldock) of San Francisco; his siblings, Linda Mezra, Sandra Martin (Marty), Sue Berger, Cathy Cliff (Roger), Nancy Wenning (Ed) and Don Sime; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Sime and Marianne Schappek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Driftless Area Land Conservancy, Mississippi Valley Conservancy, The Prairie Enthusiasts, Trout Unlimited, or a charity of your choosing; a fitting tribute to a man who spent his life giving back to the land and community he loved.
