He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Matowitz and Gertrude Matowitz (Zielinski); his grandson Leo Genia; his sister Judy Ambrosius (Ron); his nephew Matt Ambrosius (Kattie); his daughter Amy Strebe (Ambrosius); his sister Kris Crockett (Bill); and his nephews, Michael Crockett and Daniel Crockett (Elizabeth).

He is survived by: his close friend Bob Lang (Diane Lee); his daughters, Deborah Sanders (Steven) and Traci Genia (Anthony Jr.); his granddaughter Katie Genia; and his former wife Nancy Matowitz. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (7450 University Ave, Middleton, WI 53562). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
