The family announces the passing of Arlis I. Steinmetz (Milton, Wisconsin) on September 24, 2026. Arlis, born on February 13, 1928, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn Lepley and Anna Lepley (Doorn); her brother Leslie Lepley; her sons-in-law, Doug Runice and Richard Poulin; and her former husband John Deems.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Deems (Shirley) of Janesville, Kathy Crandall (Brandon) of Milton, Lynne Runice, Teresa Poulin of Menomonie and Jack Deems (Darla) of Columbia City, Indiana.; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Megan Kures, Natalie Doverspike, Becky Turnbull, Derek, Jenna Poulin, Shelby Davis, Christina, Adria, Abby Deems, Matt Arrowood, Stephanie Mawhinney and Adahmarie Chhum.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the The Gathering Place (715 Campus St, Milton, WI 53563).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WSBVI (Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired), assisting children throughout the state of Wisconsin who are visually impaired.
