He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Mielke and Edith Mielke (Imray) of Lake Mills; his sister Nanette Schwarz; his niece Cindy Beggs; his granddaughter Kira Rhodes; and his in-laws, Ted, Lena Soergel, Ken, Kay Soergel, Al and Kathy Viney (Soergel).

He is survived by: his wife Janet Soergel of Kriszan's Steakhouse; and his children, Gary (Jeannie), Gordon (Katina), Doreen Abraham (John) and Doug (Tiffany). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great- grandchildren.
