He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey H. Prentice and Doris E. Prentice (Bartlett); and his brother Robert Prentice. He is survived by: his children, James Prentice II (Shelby), Jennifer Prentice, Kally Prentice, Kelly Prentice and Charley Prentice; his grandchildren, Wayne, Alexis, Lisa, Adalyn and Carter; his stepsons, James Read, Cory Read and Jakob Klossner-Read; his stepgrandchildren, Morgan, Gavin, Zachery, Gemma and Gunnar; his sister Judith; his sibling's children, Tod and Tanya; and his former wives, Lori Anderson and Jerri Prentice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home (21 S Austin Rd, Janesville, WI 53548).
