He was predeceased by : his father Matthew Sr. Keller; his son Shea-Tate; his father-in-law Peter Steinmann Sr.; his brother-in-law Todd; and his great-nephew Winston.

He is survived by : his mother Elizabeth Keller (Monks); his wife Tina; his children, John (Taylor), Colby and Cypress; his sister Patricia; his mother-in-law Roxana; his aunt Nilda; his cousins, Jennifer and Karen; and his brothers-in-law, Ward (Denise), Peter, Wade (Anne), Joel (Val) and Jon (Michelle). He is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews; thirteen great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Matt and his family would volunteer and donate in his memory as Team Shea-Tate.
