Barbara McRae Obituary

We announce the death of Barbara McRae (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), who passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 98. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Gehrs and Anna Gehrs (Aukofer); her siblings, Kathryn "Dolly" Gehrs, Laurine "Lari" Karow (Erv), Margaret "Peggy" Hanley (John), Leah Gehrs, Warren Gehrs (Carol) and Michael Gehrs (Melanie); her husband Cornelius "Mac" McRae; and her children, Margaret "Maggie" Horkman (Jeff), Kathryn "Kate" McRae (Sherri), Christopher "Chris" McRae (Sue), Patrick "Pat" McRae (Beth) and Frank McRae (Mike).

She is survived by: her children, Andrew "Andy" McRae (Eileen), William "Bill" McRae (Julie), Anne Parker (Don) and Sherri Wehr. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Old St. Mary's Parish (844 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
