He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Nicholas (Jennifer), Matthew (Megan Stein), Carl J. (Shannon Heckendorf) and Karin Wintergerst; his grandchildren, Gage, Jordyn and Max; his brother Phillip Wintergerst; and his brother-in-law John Kosmatka. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
