He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorraine Heiden and Mason Heiden; his brother Bill; his brothers-in-law, Tom Stanius and Fred Hord; and his daughter-in-law Joan.

He is survived by: his wife Carla; his children, Teri Biernat (Scot), Todd and Rick (Jamie); his grandchildren, Jesse, Mason (Kyler), Sam, Peyton, Camille, Sofie and Max; his great grandchild Cooper; his sisters-in-law, Gabriele Heiden, Karen Hord and Marlene Stanius; and his nieces and nephews, Fritz, Heidi (Chris), Brian (Megan), Eric (Mekenzie) and Ashley.

“Bob was my dentist from 1967 to 2006. I kept Bob busy in the early years with loss of teeth due to basketball injuries. Bob put in a bridge and extended it after the second incident. He then offered some fatherly advice about reducing the intensity, always with that warm smile. Later in our history our talk focussed on orthopedic advice. We lived up to the comment that," the older you are ,the faster you ran as boys." I miss Bob, but he did one more favor for me by hiring Angela Lueck.”
