He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Koplien and Belva Koplien (Bucholtz); his wife Patricia Koplien; his brother Daniel Koplien; his son-in-law John Hartfiel; his grandson Samuel Hartfiel; and his siblings-in-law, Laverne, Bertha Lovejoy and Duane Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Sally Hartfiel, Terry Fischer (Paul) and Lewis Koplien; his grandchildren, Joseph Fischer (Amanda), Robert Hartfiel, Nicholas Fischer (Samantha Trammell), Angela Kuechler (Brad) and Natalie Hartfiel-Jackson (Chadwick); his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Evelyn, Meredith Fischer, Kristen, Khloe and Carter Kuechler; his sister Barbara Radtke (David); and his siblings-in-law, Charidy Ann Schmidt and Robert Lovejoy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
