He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Hansen (Anni Hansen) and Anni Hansen (Clausen); his former wife Judith Lee Dietz; his sponsors, Onkel Hans and Tante Marie Koch of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and his sisters-in-law, Ingeburg Hansen (Reimer) of West Bend and Enriqueta Hansen (Navarro) of Germany.

He is survived by: his wife Ursula Hansen; his daughter Karin Slyker (John); his grandchildren, John Benjamin Slyker, Katerina Leigh Slyker and Jillian Marie Slyker; his brothers, Hans Hansen of West Bend and Uwe Hansen of Heidenau; his nephews, Michael Hansen (Susan) of West Bend and Carlos Hansen of Germany; his niece Susanne Bakken (Chris) of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; Jody Nevill and Brooke Lazo. He is also survived by numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews; also cousins.
