He was predeceased by: his parents, Caroline Owen Cowdin and Charles Thomas Cowdin of Milwaukee; and his former wife Juliette L. Cowdin of Chicago, Illinois.. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles T. Cowdin, Jr., Caroline Pomponio and Timothy Cowdin; his children, Juliette M. Cowdin, Hugh P. Cowdin Jr. (Jodys A. Cowdin), Colleen M. Bianchi (late Ronald Bianchi), Daniel M. Cowdin (Deborah Cowdin) and Peter T. Cowdin (Deborah Pettid); his wife Catherine E. Rokes of Omaha; and his sons, John Rokes (Tracy Rokes), Mark Rokes and Adam Rokes (Janice Koukol). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hugh P. and Juliette L. Cowdin Communications Scholarship through the University of Nebraska Foundation.
