He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Drews and Iva Drews; his son Dennis James; his wife KallaJean Karow; and his brothers, Robert, Gerald and Richard.

He is survived by: his daughter Dana Zidek (Ken); his daughter-in-law Julianne Drews; his grandchildren, Kenny (Gretchan Brickey), Victoria Zidek, Alex (Elizabeth Thompson) and Cory Drews (Courtney); and his siblings, Ronald Drews (Diana), Joan Klemstein, Beverly Cox, Elizabeth Laczniak and Kathleen Skramstad (Allan).
