Joan Susan (Kneisel) Behr Obituary

Age 91. Called home on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026. Beloved wife to the late Erwin Behr for 56 years. Dear Mama of Diane (Mike) Brower and Darlene Behr. Loving grandma of Christian and Maxwell Siebert and Fredrich and Paul Brower. Further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Joan was a devoted homemaker who took pride in raising her daughters and helping raise her grandsons. Her family loved her dearly for it.

Joan was an Ehren Mitglied (Honor Member) of S.V.E.V D'Oberlandler Volkstrachten Verein. Joan starting dancing with the club when she married her husband, Erv. She taught many of the members how to dance and love the Bavarian traditions. A talented seamstress, she created much of the authentic Bavarian outfits for all the club's members. She also served as one of the club's Ehren Damen for their most recent Fahnenweihe.

Special thanks to Dr. Katie Hausmann, the terrace staff at Luther Manor, especially Linda Ehlers, and Crystal and the devoted hospice team, who cared for Joan with such love and tender care.

Visitation: Wednesday, April 8th, from 4 to 6 PM followed by a Memorial service at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, 8424 W. Center St., Milwaukee, WI 53222. Private interment: Pinelawn Memorial Park, Wauwatosa. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mount Carmel Lutheran Church's Endowment Fund are appreciated.
