He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Tapiz; and his siblings, Joseph Jr. (Ruby), Tony, Christina, Theresa (Hector) and Christopher.
He is survived by: his son Gilbert Tapiz; his mother Isabelle Tapiz; his siblings, Rudy Sr. (Carmen), Fernando (Maureen), Mario (Rosa), Adrian (Kellly), Ruben, Monica Espiritu (Robert) and Roberta; and his godson Isaiah Jacob Tapiz. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
