He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, Morgan Leo Gottschalk (Lan), Martin Vick Gottschalk (Karen) and Mitchell Benedict Gottschalk (Marion); his grandchildren, Christina and Matt; his great grandchild Lole; his parents, Leo Gottschalk and Amy Gottschalk; his sisters, Marie and Shirley; his wife Barbara; his grandson Maceo; his daughters-in-law, Marion, Lan and Karen; his friend Pauli; and his great grandchild TJ.
To his annoyance, Bruce continued to receive fundraising requests from the Marquette University Alumni Foundation until he died – his family thinks this might end with Bruce's passing.
