He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Natalio Acevedo and Monserrate Ramos-Acevedo; his wife Deyanira Acevedo; and his children, Frankie Acevedo, Annette Santiago, Rafael Acevedo Jr. and Jose Acevedo. He was also cherished by his siblings, spouses of his children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation appreciated.
