He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; his parents, Maxwell Eakin and Lena Eakin; and his sister Wilma. He is survived by: his children, Roy Michael Eakin (Barb), Colleen Matthews (Dave) and Nancy Rusch (Michael). He is also survived by his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in Roy's memory.
