We announce the death of Sarah M. Dean of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 23, 2026. Sarah will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Philip E. Lerman; her stepsons, Richard Lerman (late Mona Higuchi) and David M. Lerman (Sharon Marcus); her parents, Anthony A. Dean and Kathryn Flannigan Dean; and her sister Kathryn Thompson (David).
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Liz Lerman (Jon Spelman); her grandchildren, Jesse Lerman (Teena), Joshua Lerman (Katrin), Anna Spelman (Peter Prix), Ilana Lerman (James Schaffer), Rabbi Noam Lerman and Rachel Lerman; and her great grandchildren, Maya, Ezra, Judah Lerman, Lily, Maggie Lerman, Emunah and Aydn Azamra Schaffer.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (1901 N Farwell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202). A vigil service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Old Saint Mary Church (844 N Broadway St, Menomonie, WI 54751).
