William P. Bartz Obituary
Entered eternal life on February 5, 2025 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of the late Esther and loving father of the late Marilyn, Carol (Gene) Erl, David, Joan (Brian) Forke, Janice Taylor and Thomas. Dearest grandfather of Bridget (Peter) Jene, Hannah (Martin) Erl; Thomas (Emily), Kathryn and Benjamin Forke; Ian Taylor, Alyssa (Alex) Brown and Julia (Jonathan) Lancaster. Precious great-grandfather of Sophia Brown, Avery Lancaster and Gabriel Forke. Also, survived and loved by brother/sister-in-law David & Carole Ludwig and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
William received loving and kind care from Commonheart Hospice and the staff of St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus where he peacefully passed in his sleep.
During his schooling, William completed the six year ministry preparatory program which included high school and the first two years of a liberal arts college program. He then attended one year at the seminary in St. Louis before deciding to follow an engineering degree course, graduating from Marquette University in 1953. William was a mechanical engineer during his long career at Kearney & Trecker. He was also a devoted member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and was very generous with his time serving as a congregational president, on various boards, a member and president of the Senior Choir, and the Tuesday Night Work Crew.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 17th at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (5327 W. Washington Blvd.), from 11:30 AM until time of the service at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mount Olive Lutheran Church (https://mtolivemke.org) or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
