He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecelia Basting and Leo Smith; and his stepfathers, Robert Peasly (Max) and Marvin Edmonds. He is survived by: his wife Diane Leinberger; his children, Lynn Hille (Jamie) of Mineral Point, Robert "Bubba" Smith of Mineral Point and Michael "Tater" Smith (Amy) of Mineral Point; his grandchildren, Levi Zimmerman of Dodgeville, Zach Smith, Kennedy Byous, Holden and Camden Smith of Mineral Point; and his sister Mary Bentzler (Brian) of Madison. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
