It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce L. Rufer of Monroe, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Merrill and Martha Reed (Reimer); her siblings, Lewis Reed, Dwight Reed, Margaret Wehinger and Pauline Ferguson; and her son-in-law Mike VanNatta.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Rufer of Monroe; her children, Renee Rufer of Monroe, Kelli Rufer of Monroe, Deena Adkins (Jerry) of Juda, Lonna Bevard (Brad) of New River, AZ, Nikki VanNatta of Monroe, Dr. Shann Rufer of Hampton, VA, Errin Olson (Shane) of Monroe, Chadd Rufer (Catherine) of Milwaukee, WI, Brett Rufer (Gordana) of Phoenix, AZ and Torry Rufer (Amanda) of Oak Creek, WI; her grandchildren, Morgan Bauer (Paxton), Riley Spellman (Lucas), Taylor Adkins, Blake Adkins, Brady Bevard, Macy Bevard, Antonio Addison, Brandon Addison (McKenna Hess), Makayla VanNatta, Kyle Olson, Haylie Olson, Ashleigh Olson, Timothy Olson, Jonathan Olson, Emilee Olson, Nathan Olson, Lily Olson, Paisley Olson, Bridget Rufer, Leon Rufer, Madison Rufer and Brooklynn Rufer; her great grandchildren, Eveland, Penelope, Whittaker, Ayden and Knox; her brother Orval Reed; and her extended family, Tressa, Ellie and Reese Speckman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home (1455 Mansion Dr, Monroe, WI 53566). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jordan Lutheran Church (W9006 Smock Valley Rd, Monroe, WI 53566).
