He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert C. Mehling and Eunice M. Mehling (Cull); his grandson Cody Neal Hester; his siblings, Sharon, Charles, Michael, Patrick, Phillip and Paul; his parents-in-law, Louis and Rachel Schroetter; and his brothers-in-law, Louis Jr., Joseph, John, Tom and Scott Schroetter.

He is survived by : his wife Lana Mehling of Montello; his children, Jeannie Mehling-Briones (Travis) of Cambria, Amy Mehling (Marc Lucchi) of Oshkosh and Jamie Mehling (Ervin Shurpit Jr.) of Neshkoro; his grandchildren, Bryce Smith, Jacob Hester, Maddie Smith, Rachel Zills and Carmen Briones; his great grandchildren, Jacob Hester Jr. and Hunter Hester; his siblings, Judith Tabor, Jerome Mehling (Sandra), Leo Mehling (Eiko), Mark Mehling (Sharon), Donna Sizer (Robert) and Eileen Pape; his sisters-in-law, Barb Mehling, Vicki Mehling, Linda Knapp (Bob), Barbara Griswold and Rosie Schroetter (Potter); his aunt Dorothy Cull; his friends, Greg Steiner, Bob Miller (Linda), Wes Hunting and Mark Bierman; and his pets, Moo, Boomer and Jinx. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
